Registration and CPR number upon arrival to Denmark
To become registered and receive a CPR number your stay in Denmark must exceed 3 months.
To become registered and receive a CPR number your stay in Denmark must exceed 3 months. If your stay in Denmark in less than 3 months, do not register.
If you live in Frederiksberg Municipality, you need to go to International House Copenhagen.
The steps in the registration process:
Step 1. Register online:
Before you meet in Borgerservice, you have to follow the link below and fill out the entry application:
Register online. Be sure to upload your documents in the proces.
Step 2. Book an appointment at the Citizen Service Centre online:
Please note that you need to book one appointment for each person entering Denmark.
I.e. if you are a family of 4, you need to book 4 appointments.

Step 3. Meet in person at the Citizen Service:
You need to bring the following documents (originals) when you meet at the Centre:
- Passport or National ID Card
- Lease / lodging host statement
- EU citizens: Registration certificate (registration certificate can be obtained from the SIRI).
- Not EU Citizens: Residence permit (residence permit can be obtained from Immigration SIRI)
- Children’s birth certificate if you bring children.
- Marriage certificate if you are married
