Flex Jobs
With the flex job scheme, it is possible to hire people even if they can only work a few hours a week. This allows the company to complete smaller tasks that might otherwise be difficult to find employees for. The company only pays for the actual work performed by the flex job employee.
Additionally, the flex job employee receives a flex wage subsidy from the municipality.
Advantages:
- The company only pays for the actual working hours – the effective working hours.
- If a person is employed in a flex job for 20 hours a week with a work intensity of 50%, the company pays for 10 hours.
- The company demonstrates social responsibility and enhances its reputation.
- The company does not have more administrative work with a flex job employee than with other employees.

Wage Subsidy for Early Retirement Pensioners
It is possible to hire a disability pensioner with a wage subsidy for an individually agreed period. The company generally pays the collective agreement wage within the relevant employment area and then receives a wage subsidy from the municipality. In cases where the disability pensioner has a significantly reduced work capacity, the wage can be agreed to be below the collective agreement minimum wage, provided the relevant trade union allows it.
Advantages:
- Provides disability pensioners the opportunity to maintain an active working life.
- The wage subsidy job is planned in collaboration with the company and the unemployed person.
- The Job Center provides support and guidance and continuously follows up on the wage subsidy job.

Workplace Adjustments – subsidy for aids
The Job Center can provide subsidies for work tools and smaller adjustments to the workplace that can compensate for the employee’s limitations in work capacity. These limitations can be physical, psychological, or social.
The subsidy can cover tools or small machinery for personal use in relation to the work.
Companies must apply to the Job Center for the subsidy, which is granted based on an individual assessment. It is a requirement that the expense for the workplace adjustment or aid exceeds what the workplace would normally cover.
Benefits:
- The company can make fully use of the employee's skills, and the employee is given the opportunity to perform a job despite reduced work capacity.

Support for Mentorship
The mentorship scheme can be used for anyone who needs a mentor to obtain or retain employment or an employment-promoting activity.
The Job Center can grant mentor support to unemployed, sick, rehabilitating individuals, as well as to those in education, company internships, wage subsidy jobs, flex jobs, and regular employment, as long as the need for the mentor is crucial.
The Job Center provides support to cover the wage costs of the employee who takes on the mentoring role or as a fee to an external consultant. It is individually assessed how many hours the employee should be freed up for the mentoring function. To improve an employee’s ability to take on the mentoring role, subsidies can also be granted for the purchase of training for the employee.
Advantages:
- Better introduction and training for the job, thereby increasing the chances of a successful employment.
- The company incurs no costs in connection with establishing the mentoring scheme.
Reimbursement from the First Day of Absence Due to Chronic or Long-Term Illness
If an employee has increased absence due to a chronic or long-term illness, the Job Center can help so that the employee’s absence does not burden the company.
A § 56 agreement is a support option that allows the company to retain employees who have a higher risk of absence due to illness, hospitalization, or need for treatment.
The agreement allows for sickness benefit reimbursement to the company (up to the highest sickness benefit rate) from the employee’s first day of absence. A company and employee can enter into a § 56 agreement if it is expected that the employee’s condition will result in an absence of at least 10 days per year. The application for the § 56 agreement must be submitted to the employee’s home municipality and approved by the Job Center. A § 56 agreement can be made for two years at a time and only concerns absence related to the employee’s condition.
Advantages:
- Opportunity to retain employees with high absenteeism through financial compensation.
- Greater security among employees affected by chronic, long-term, or serious illness.
Language Internship- Knowledge from around the world
Frederiksberg Municipality has several highly educated academics with foreign backgrounds who lack Danish language skills to establish themselves in the labor market.
Therefore, we offer them a language internship, where we organize a program in close collaboration with a company. Perhaps yours?
What does the program mean for you?
You will be paired with a highly skilled individual with an academic background for an unpaid internship. At the same time, an international intern can bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to your daily work.
What type of employment is it?
It is a company internship lasting four weeks, where the primary goal for the intern is to improve their Danish language skills. We ask you to support an environment where you speak Danish with and around the intern.
What competencies can you expect from the candidates?
In principle, we have candidates from various fields, but we particularly have strong matches among those with degrees in social sciences, economics, and the humanities.
Due to the candidates' language challenges, they typically work on generalist tasks such as:
- Assisting with administrative tasks like planning activities, booking meetings, light record-keeping, ordering catering, etc.
- Supporting project managers with various planning, development, or coordination tasks.
- Providing professional assistance for various projects, such as building and interior design projects, environmental projects, and health-related projects.
- Advising and assisting with systems.
- Helping with marketing and/or statistics.
How do we get started?
