Business Fund

The business fund 2024-25 aims to strengthen Frederiksberg as a beautiful and vibrant city, making it an attractive place to visit and do business.

Content

The Business Fund was in 2024 allocated based on these three initiatives:

    1.     Strengthening business networks and collaborations

Recipient: Sparekassen Danmark, Frederiksberg branch in partnership with BIDdanmark

    Purpose:

    • To create vibrancy, unity, collaboration, and prevent store closures in two areas of Frederiksberg.
    • To build a vibrant and beautiful city, where it is attractive to run a business and fostering a strong commercial life that provides tourists, customers, and residents with a great experience through activities and exciting public spaces.

The project will actively work on strengthening the unity among local stakeholders and increasing traffic in stores. Furthermore, it will support stakeholders in realizing their ideas, ensuring that both businesses and residents take ownership of the activities.

Partners: The project is expected to collaborate closely with Erhvervshus Hovedstaden, local business and trade associations and Frederiksberg Municipality

Project management: BIDdanmark, led by Mikkel Niess (Mikkel@biddanmark.dk)

    Application Requirements:

Local stakeholders can apply for up to 150,000 DKK to strengthen one or more networks and public spaces as part of the implementation of the Frederiksberg City Strategy 2024.

The goal is to enhance city life and attract more visitors to selected streets/public spaces.

This can be achieved by engaging businesses and the local community more in city development as well as cultural and recreational initiatives and events. The initiative encourages a local business actor to take on a coordinating role in engaging and bringing together businesses and stakeholders in collaboration.

    Examples of initiatives could include:

    • Development of new offerings or further development of existing offerings, such as networking events and street-level communities.
    • A joint marketing campaign that highlights businesses and stakeholders during one or more city events.
    • Activities will be evaluated and their impact measured by the coordinating business actor after the initiative is completed.

    2.     Anchoring the 'This is Frederiksberg' brand strategy

Recipient: Frederiksberg Erhverv in partnership with Wonderful Copenhagen and Helium Kommunikation

    Purpose:

    • The initiative aims to strengthen Frederiksberg's brand as an attractive tourist destination with a vibrant commercial and cultural life, as well as exciting and beautiful public spaces.
    • To provide local business owners with inspiration, tools, and professional knowledge to market their offerings to tourists – both individually, but also significantly in collaboration

The initiative focuses on two district areas and includes high-quality and relevant masterclasses, with the aim of creating a dynamic collaborative framework among the stakeholders.

Project Management: Helium Kommunikation, Lise Schubart (lsc@heliumkommunikation.dk)

    Requirements for Application:

Local actors can apply for up to 200,000 DKK in 2024 for business courses centered around the 'This is Frederiksberg' core narrative.

The purpose is to inspire businesses to incorporate the core narrative into their own marketing and offerings.

    The course may include:

    • Offers of guidance within business development, such as digital marketing opportunities and the use of social media
    • Inspiration for matchmaking and/or partnerships between stakeholders
    • Workshops or individual coaching sessions

We emphasize that the applicant should have a coordinating role and that the courses are developed and held with as many participants as possible, ensuring maximum value.

The applicant will evaluate and assess the effectiveness of the activities once the initiative has finished.

    3.     Strengthening Frederiksberg's hospitality and tourist information

Initiative 3: Hospitality and Tourist Information

Recipient: Henrik Thierlein, Thierlein.dk, consultant in tourism, press, and gastronomy in Frederiksberg.

    Purpose:
To strengthen Frederiksberg’s hospitality and tourist information by increasing 'product knowledge' among key stakeholders and front-line staff, and by generating inspiring media coverage and articles in weekly magazines, etc. The project will include product knowledge tours in Frederiksberg, focusing on the city’s stories. During the project period, local and nationwide press will be activated through articles about Frederiksberg.

Project Management: Henrik Thierlein at henrik@thierlein.dk.

Management model for the Business Fund Initiatives

    ·        Frederiksberg Byforum, an advisory board to the Frederiksberg Business Council, acts as the steering group for the three funding initiatives.

    ·        Frederiksberg Municipality's administration has selected the actors who will receive funding, based on applicants who meet the criteria and have submitted valid applications within the deadline.
