Most constructions and installations require a building permit. The same applies to some renovations.

Change of Use from Commercial to Residential or Vice Versa

You must apply for a building permit if you wish to change the use of a residential property.

• As a general rule, the new residential space must comply with the requirements of the building regulations. When the use is changed, it is often challenging to meet the applicable rules for living areas and parking spaces.
• If there is a localplan for the area or a registered easement, you must also comply with the provisions contained therein.
• Read the municipality's objectives regarding housing and housing growth in the municipal plan.
